WINTER BREAK SERVICE

February 2017

PV youth didn’t stay idle during Winter Break! We found service opportunities to help anywhere we could. Youth made a trip out (our second time!) to Bernie’s Book Bank, a nonprofit organization in Lake Bluff that collects, processes, and distributes donated children’s books to at-risk infants, toddlers, and school-aged children throughout Chicagoland. Our youth had a great time sorting and processing books and getting them ready to be distributed to kids in Chicago!

Another project youth completed was through Cornerstone Community Outreach, an organization that serves homeless Chicagoans. Our students enjoyed serving hot meals to their clients and sorting through garment donations for the community thrift store.

Thank you to both organizations for hosting us and teaching our youth the importance of service!
