PV YOUTH HOLD COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR
June 2018
Project: VISION’s students in the Health Awareness Prevention Promotion by Youth (HAPPY) leadership program completed and showcased their projects on June 9th in a youth-run community health fair. Held at the Chinatown Library the health fair educated community members about mental health, nutrition, respiratory issues, and cardiovascular issues. The students explained their topics, handed out informational flyers that they created, and did interactive activities with the community guests. The health fair was a success! Our students embodied leadership as they used what they learned and gave back to the community by promoting health education and prevention.
We would like to thank Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA), our volunteers, and the community for making this event a great learning opportunity for our students!
