Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

March 14, 2020

Dear Project: VISION Community,

As you all have likely heard already, Governor Pritzker announced at a press conference on March 13th that all K-12 schools across Illinois will be closed starting Tuesday, March 17th through at least Monday, March 30th.

Given the Governor’s decision, guidance from multiple public health departments, and increasing call from medical experts to practice social distancing, Project: VISION will close the Center starting on Monday, March 16th, 2020. We feel this is the best step to protect the health and safety of our students, their families, and our staff and volunteers.

Starting Monday, March 16th, Project: VISION will be moving as many programs as possible onto online formats to continue supporting our students as best as possible. Other programs and activities, especially those requiring travel and group gatherings, will be cancelled or postponed as appropriate. Parents and students will be receiving messages with additional details about the specific programs they are involved with. We will also be reaching out to our partners to find ways to revise our collaboration plans.

During this time, Project: VISION staff will be continuing our work to advance our organization’s mission. All staff will be working remotely and fully accessible through phone, email, and other online and social media platforms. Please feel free to reach out to any one of us.

We will continue to monitor this situation closely and will keep you all updated as new developments come to light. We look forward to being able to work with our entire community again in full capacity soon.

Thank you!

The Project: VISION Team
